SLE stands for Spring Like Effect and the SLE Rule governs the maximum allowable coefficient of repulsion of the spring effect for a driver head. This maximum allowable coefficient will be 0.83 starting in 2008. Any club that has a head with coefficient repulsion over 0.83 will not be allowed to be used in competitions. Competitive golfers should look for this blue mark when choosing a club. Generally speaking, an enlarged head was supposedly a disadvantage for catching the ball.
